Meet Rebecca
Helpful and kindhearted, Rebecca Brisco makes a point of getting to know those she cares for both professionally and personally. An active listener, she wants to understand the needs of her patients and help them improve their quality of life.
“Medical care is a two-way street,” she says. “Long gone are the days when the providers simply told patients what to do. Now, successful medical care is a partnership. I like to educate our patients about treatment options so they can make an informed decision and, together, we can determine what may work best for them.”
Having worked as a physician assistant since 2002, Rebecca is experienced and knowledgeable. She specializes in conservative management of orthopedic issues, general orthopedic surgery and trauma. She also has an extensive background in spine procedures.
As a physician assistant with a focus on orthopedics, Rebecca believes her patients should have a thorough understanding of their condition and know their options. Although she often recommends conservative treatment, she knows surgery is sometimes necessary. When surgery is needed, she walks patients through the process, from consultation to post-surgery recovery, and also assists during surgery.
“I am delighted when patients are able to avoid surgery with effective non-surgical care, but I am also happy to see them have definitive improvement following successful surgery if conservative options have not met their needs,” she says.
In her free time, Rebecca enjoys hiking, strolling the beach, whale watching, gardening, cooking, bird watching and spending time with her husband, two dogs and cat. She also loves to travel and appreciates good food and wine.
