Masks Are Now Optional In Healthcare Settings
Published April 3, 2023
On March 29, Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (Oregon OSHA) aligned guidance with the Oregon Health Authority regarding the workplace requirements for healthcare facilities related to the masking mandate.
Healthcare facilities will no longer be required to wear face masks as of April 3, 2023. Coquille Valley Hospital and Primary Care Clinic employees who want to continue to wear face masks are encouraged to do so. We ask that others respect those who choose to wear a mask, due to preference or illness.
Coquille Valley Hospital’s recommendation regarding persons who enter the hospital or clinic with symptoms that mimic respiratory illness are encouraged to still use a mask. This is to protect our patients, visitors and staff so we can continue to provide a safe environment for all who enter the facility.
Disposable face masks will still be made available at Coquille Valley Hospital entrance locations. We thank employees for their service and dedication, and we thank our visitors for their support.
Be well.
