Meet Dr. Hanst

For Dr. Heidi Hanst, her patients are the best part of her job.

“I love getting to know people of all varieties and to help them through this life,” she says.

Dr. Heidi Hanst chose family medicine as her primary focus because she wanted to provide continuity for patients throughout their lives, helping them to overcome barriers to healthcare, both on an individual and a community level.

She offers the full spectrum of care, including pediatrics, women’s health (excluding obstetrics), senior care and medication for addiction.

Dr. Hanst strives for her patients to feel heard, validated and empowered as they work together to create a healthcare plan that’s built on trust.

Her favorite quote is from John Upledger: “The body is a remarkable mechanism of mystery and capable of untold feats of self-preservation and healing.”

Adding to that, she says, “I believe that the body heals itself. It’s just my job to help it along the best I can.”

In her free time, Dr. Hanst enjoys gardening, camping, hiking, swimming and canoeing. She lives in a converted school bus with her family. “There are always projects going!”
