Insurance specialist ( 1
evening position )
Reports directly to the CEO/Administrator as a member of the Senior
Management Team to provide marketing, public/community relations, and
fundraising duties of an acute healthcare facility and Critical Access Hospital.
Marketing and public/community relations duties will constitute approximately
seventy percent (70%) of duties, and fundraising will constitute approximately
thirty percent (30%) of duties. These approximations may vary over a given time
period. Shows knowledge of the medical industry and is sensitive to community
needs, with a solid understanding of and comfort with clinical programs.
Continuously use team building abilities and personnel management skills. Bridge
varying constituencies to ensure optimal service and results. Actively use
excellent communication skills - verbal and written - in building and developing
multi-media advertising and promotional programs. Travel as needed. Perform with
a demonstrated ability to work on several projects in process simultaneously
which will include designing, writing copy for and placing promotional ads,
programs, and events including newspaper/print ads, radio ads/TV and
commercials. Take digital photos, initiate articles and design layout for all
forms of hospital media to include the web, newsletter, local newspapers,
pamphlets, brochures, handbooks, advertising using MS Publisher and Photoshop or
other similar desktop publishing software. Coordinates fundraising strategies
and is responsible for most aspects of fundraising programs.

Previous medical/clerical experience, electronic billing, and multi phone
experience is preferred. Must be able to use a keyboard and calculator. The
primary responsibility of this position is the billing of insurance, both
primary and secondary, electronic claim filing, Medicare common working file,
credit refunds. Responsibilities also include registration of customers, multi
line phones, responding to billing calls, balancing the cash drawer, working
aged receivable accounts, post payments, some data entry. This position will
also back up other staff for vacations and sick leave.

Surgical Technologist
Immediate opening for an experienced Surgical Technologist. CST preferred
with 2 years experience in general surgery, orthopedics and/or EENT. Must have
the ability to handle varied case load; one-third endoscopy. Works under general
supervision of Surgical Services Manager to assist in surgical operations under
the direction of the surgeon and circulating nurses. Before an operation,
surgical technologists help prepare the operating room by setting up surgical
instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions. Assemble both
sterile and nonsterile equipment, as well as adjust and check it to ensure it is
working properly. Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and
disinfecting incision sites. Transport patients to the operating room, help
position them on the operating table, and cover them with sterile surgical
“drapes.” Observe patients’ vital signs, check charts, and assist the surgical
team with putting on sterile gowns and gloves. During surgery, pass instruments
and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants. May hold
retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and
instruments. Because of the demands for 24-hour operating room coverage, must be
able to take call on a very flexible schedule. Must have 20-25 minute response
time when called in.

Patient Financial Services Office Manager
A working supervisor of admissions/registration and billing/collection staff.
"Hands on” experience in medical insurance billing, Medicare online, OMAP, and VA.
Medical terminology and ICD-9 coding required. Must show progressive management/supervisory experience in
an acute healthcare facility or Critical Access Hospital. Also, must be able to demonstrate leadership,
managerial ability, excellent interpersonal relationships and communication skills, advanced knowledge of quality
and process improvement and the ability to apply sound hospital business office and customer service skills and

Receptionist Filled,

A full-time registration person for Hospital inpatient and outpatient customers.
Shares responsibility for incoming phone calls, insurance preauthorizations, filing
and updating procedures. Works closely with patients and Hospital staff.
Requires excellent customer service and telephone skills. Must be able to keyboard
quickly and accurately, handle multiple phone calls, ten-key, accurate filing skills.
Medical terminology, word/word perfect and/or spreadsheet skills helpful, confidentiality a must.
Previous experience in Hospital or other medical registration preferred.

Our facility is a growing and progressive, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital
and a co-located Family Practice clinic in a southwestern Oregon coastal valley,
just 20 minutes from the Pacific Ocean.

Orthopedic Surgeon
BC/BE General Orthopedist to replace a retired surgeon. This is a turnkey
practice with support staff shared by an established second Orthopedist. The
practice serves two rural hospitals on the Oregon Coast, with scheduled clinic
and surgical days at each facility. Both hospitals have an equipped and
staffed office, and a well-staffed and well-equipped surgical suite and
competent CRNAs.
The new practitioner will join medical staffs that include family physicians,
family nurse practitioners, general internists and general surgeons. The
primary care referral base is very supportive of the orthopedists. Flexible
contract arrangements can include direct employment or an independent
contract.
